Okay, so I’ve decided to give this blog a shot. Why not? I love to give my opinion, and like most women, I love fashion. Many of our customers ask “What’s the latest thing?” Well, I can tell you what I have discovered through sales, shopping and research.

1. Crosses and Coins – these are the peace signs and skeleton keys of days gone by.

2. Skinny bangles with charms – Stack them.. the more the merrier!

3. Mixed metals – Mix it up! There are no rules. Wear gold, silver, copper, and gunmetal all at the same time! It won’t kill you, I promise!

4. Corals – THE hot color for Spring/Summer 2012 is coral or tangerine. Spring for a pair of earrings or a necklace in this color… or opt for turquoise, which looks fabulous with a coral top.

5. Charms, charms, and more charms! We are wearing our hearts on our sleeves… or rather, around our necks! Words of inspiration, faith and family are very popular. Most likely, due to such trying times. It’s FEEL GOOD jewelry!! Who doesn’t need that??

Most important is your own personal style. I always say, “you HAVE to feel comfortable wearing something or you WILL NOT wear it!” (Not more than once, anyway!) Mix old with new, high end with affordable! So, wear what you like and like what you wear!

We carry two lines that specialize in cotton ball pearls, the John Wind collection and Deluxe by Lorren Bell. These pearls are made of genuine cotton. They’re durable but they will dent if they’re struck on a hard surface so you must handle them with care!

• Earth tones, such as grays, blacks, and browns are hot colors for Fall. Also, army green is HUGE this year! Jewel tones are also extremely popular… eggplant, emerald, sapphire, deep reds and golds.

• Chunky necklaces and over-sized earrings are Fall’s favorite statement pieces!

• VINTAGE is IN!

• Pearls are always in style! Mix them with rhinestones and any of the metals!

• MIX IT UP! Mixed metals are all the rage! Layer chains and bangles in copper, brass, gun metal, silver, etc… No more matchy-matchy!

• Layer your necklaces!

• The more bracelets you have on, the better! Mix your thin bangles with a chunky bangle and you’ll look amazing!

• Coins are still in for the Fall. Bring your coins in and we can put something together for you!

• Rings – The BIGGER the BETTER!

This Fall’s rule of thumb… choose your outfit to go with your jewelry instead of choosing your jewelry to go with your outfit!
